Buffalo’s Albright Knox Art Gallery recently reopened as AKG, following an acclaimed expansion project designed by Shohei Shigematsu of OMA. The museum’s stunning renovations include the new Gundlach building and “Common Sky” (pictured above), an installation piece over the museum’s original courtyard space.
AKG is home to major works by Paul Gauguin, Vasily Kandinsky, Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Francis Bacon, Arshile Gorky, Jackson Pollock, Jasper Johns, Robert Motherwell, Robert Rauschenberg, Alberto Giacometti, Mark Rothko, Clyfford Still, and Andy Warhol.
